Photos of Qatar

Qatar is an interesting place and it was an experience to be savoured looking back on the two years we lived there. Some days were diamonds, some days things got up your nose - like the dust ( literally ), the mad driving, the infuriating delays in getting simple things accomplished. Retrospect being like it is some of those things just become hilarious like the small road outside our apartment block which after a year of roadworks was still not complete, at the time it was a major inconvenience. They have 11 or so years before the Football World Cup and I just hope they at least use another roading company!!!
The following photos show some of the beauty and diversity of the place and the people.

From left to right, top to bottom they are:

Film set at Zikrit, baby camels, dhow on the Corniche
Friday fish market, back end of a bus, boat building
New State Mosque, rainbow sunset, dhows at Ruwais
Dhows on the Corniche, Ithnan Bint Jameela, No Barking
Film set at Zikrit, more dhows at Ruwais, film set at Zikrit
Ornate ceiling at Islamic Museum, new State Mosque, beautiful falcon, old fort at Zubara
Handrail and walkway at the Pearl, another beautiful falcon, a different film set at Zikrit, dining under the dates at the Dip club
