We were kindly invited to go with a group over to the west coast of Qatar yesterday for a swim. We arrived at a small village and there were a couple of camels wandering around - a fenced area for them was close by. We had to stop and take photos - the neat part was we were able to get up close to them - a mother and her youngster (not sure what 
they call a baby camel - will have to investigate). Here is a photo of the beach - we were north of Zekreet - fairly isolated and a bumpy sandy/rocky track to get there - you need a 4 wheel drive really to access these parts. There were 12 of us. Bahrain is not far - they are going to build a bridge to Bahrain from this part of Qatar. The water was very warm and salty - easy to float.After the swim Brian's vehicle drove past a camel racing place and that's where all these wonderful photos were taken.
